Our history
Founding of Setza
Roger Meier and Patrick Terreaux met during an academic MBA program at the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology in Lausanne. The problem with meeting rooms management came up in a discussion, whereupon they decided to develop a wireless solution to fix it.
ETH Zurich, our first customer
The two engineers presented the project to ETH Zurich, which was looking for a solution to manage the 500 rooms on campus. A major point that made the difference was the wireless aspect of the ROOMZ screens, which allowed them to be installed without damaging the buildings.
From Setza to ROOMZ
2017 marked a turning point: with Fabien Moine joining as Head of Sales and Marketing, ROOMZ launched its solution on the Swiss market under a new name and identity. Presence sensors were also introduced to eliminate “ghost meetings.
Opening up to Europe
Based on its solid success in Switzerland, ROOMZ opened up two new countries in succession: France and Germany, thus expanding its distribution range to Europe.
Swiss market leadership
ROOMZ strengthened its position in Switzerland, becoming the market leader thanks to the simplicity and flexibility of its wireless solution. By mid-year, ROOMZ cracked the mark of 400 customers from all sectors such as healthcare, banking, education, and municipalities. A symbolic and encouraging milestone!
From Meeting Room Solution to Intelligent Offices Solution
ROOMZ expanded beyond meeting rooms with the launch of Desk and Huddle Sensors, addressing all types of workspaces. The myROOMZ web and mobile app completed the ecosystem, enabling companies to manage shared desks and embrace hybrid working.
More than 1,000 customers convinced
A new milestone in the evolution of ROOMZ was reached, with nearly 1,000 customers using the solution all over Europe – and a few on other continents as well!
Flexible desk management and analytics
The myROOMZ app evolved to manage every type of desk, from allocated to hot desks, giving companies greater flexibility. That same year, ROOMZ introduced Advanced Analytics, helping organizations understand how their spaces are used and make smarter decisions.
ROOMZ Display: reliability you can trust
By the end of 2023, ROOMZ had reached 1,700 customers. This milestone also allowed for assessing displays installed at ETH Zurich in 2016, which show almost no visible degradation and are expected to last another decade.
1 Million Bookings on myROOMZ
The myROOMZ booking application has surpassed one million bookings, demonstrating its effectiveness in enhancing workspace efficiency and elevating user satisfaction.
