Does ROOMZ require cabling or infrastructure changes?

No. ROOMZ is fully wireless and connects to the existing Wi-Fi network. Displays can be installed in just a few minutes on any surface, including glass, with no cables to run or PoE infrastructure to deploy. Installation is quick and non-disruptive, and displays can easily be moved later. This is a major advantage in buildings where drilling or cabling is restricted, including listed or historic properties. ETH Zurich has deployed more than 800 ROOMZ displays across its campus since 2016, including in historic buildings where cabling was not an option.

How long do the batteries last and how are they replaced?

ROOMZ Displays offer up to 4 years of battery life under normal use and are designed to remain in operation for more than 10 years. This is made possible by e-ink® technology, which consumes power only when the content changes and remains in standby for most of the time. When the battery needs to be replaced, it can be changed easily and without tools in just a few seconds.

How quickly can we deploy ROOMZ across multiple rooms?

An entire floor can be equipped in a single day, compared with several weeks for a wired solution. Each display can be installed and connected in just a few minutes, with no electrical work or disruption to daily operations.

How is ROOMZ different from a tablet mounted on a wall?

A tablet requires permanent power, runs an operating system that requires ongoing updates and security management, and typically needs to be replaced after a few years. ROOMZ is designed specifically for room booking, with no operating system or local data storage. Its e-ink® display uses very little energy, while its wireless design and premium materials ensure a lifespan of at least 10 years.

How can the ROOMZ ecosystem make your workplace more efficient?

From finding available spaces on live maps to booking rooms and desks and understanding workplace usage, the ecosystem connects the different needs of a modern workplace. Real-time information helps employees find the right space, while usage insights help organizations optimize it.

How does ROOMZ handle data security and GDPR compliance?

ROOMZ is ISO 27001 certified and GDPR compliant. ROOMZ Displays have no embedded operating system and do not store data locally, reducing the attack surface and eliminating the need for operating system patching. Communications are encrypted, with support for modern security standards including WPA3 and TLS 1.3. ROOMZ occupancy sensors detect presence without identifying individuals, keeping occupancy data anonymous by design.

Does ROOMZ work on-premise, or is it cloud-only?

ROOMZ is available as both a cloud and on-premise solution, allowing organizations to choose the deployment option that best fits their infrastructure and security requirements.
