Does ROOMZ require cabling or infrastructure changes?

No. ROOMZ is fully wireless and connects to the existing Wi-Fi network. Displays can be installed in just a few minutes on any surface, including glass, with no cables to run or PoE infrastructure to deploy. Installation is quick and non-disruptive, and displays can easily be moved later. This is a major advantage in buildings where drilling or cabling is restricted, including listed or historic properties. ETH Zurich has deployed more than 800 ROOMZ displays across its campus since 2016, including in historic buildings where cabling was not an option.

How long do the batteries last and how are they replaced?

ROOMZ Displays offer up to 4 years of battery life under normal use and are designed to remain in operation for more than 10 years. This is made possible by e-ink® technology, which consumes power only when the content changes and remains in standby for most of the time. When the battery needs to be replaced, it can be changed easily and without tools in just a few seconds.

How quickly can we deploy ROOMZ across multiple rooms?

An entire floor can be equipped in a single day, compared with several weeks for a wired solution. Each display can be installed and connected in just a few minutes, with no electrical work or disruption to daily operations.

A tablet requires permanent power, runs an operating system that requires ongoing updates and security management, and typically needs to be replaced after a few years. ROOMZ is designed specifically for room booking, with no operating system or local data storage.
