At Anna-Warburg-Schule one of four vocational schools for social pedagogy in Hamburg, Germany, around one thousand students attend classes every year. To improve classroom coordination and reduce confusion caused by outdated information, the school deployed 49 ROOMZ Education Display units across its campus.
Outdated analogic schedules created confusion
Before implementing ROOMZ, the school was already using Untis, a specialized scheduling tool for education, to manage timetable planning, but classrooms were still labeled with an analog occupancy plan displayed on door signs. These schedules only reflected a static weekly plan for the entire semester. Any room changes, cancellations, or special allocations could not be updated in real time, which created inconsistencies between Untis data and what was shown on classroom doors. «As a result, there were frequent differences between the planned timetable in Untis and the actual occupancy displayed on-site» explains the IT-Teacher at Anna-Warburg-Schule.
Smooth integration with Untis without changing processes
A key requirement of the project was to enhance, not replace, the existing planning system. ROOMZ integrates directly with Untis, allowing the school to maintain its established processes: «ROOMZ gave us the opportunity to keep our proven planning tool for timetables and complement it perfectly with a digital solution. With its e-ink displays, it provides an ideal solution to leverage digitalization in our school.»
Easy deployment and sustainable use across school facilities
The wireless aspect made installation simple, enabling a fast rollout across the entire school infrastructure with minimal technical constraints. «The wireless displays allow us to use the devices in any location. Flexible use of classrooms for teachers, students, and staff
With real-time room occupancy visible directly outside classrooms, the school can now adapt much faster to last-minute changes, ensuring that the information on-site stays aligned with the actual timetable data.
